it may be getting darker outside, but we’re still open for you!

As of October 17th, 2012, our Wednesday hours will shift to the late afternoon/early evening: 3:45 – 5:30 pm.

With Autumn Comes New Hours

We have adjusted our hours for Fall.

We are pleased to announce we will be open Wednesdays from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm, thanks to new volunteer Alexis!  Be sure to thank her when you stop in to check out or return toys that day.  This should be a real benefit to families with kids who get out of school early on Wednesday afternoons!

Friday mornings are hopping at the WTL – we are open early at 9 am and close at noon.  Come see us before lunch!

We still have Saturday hours – come find us between 10 am and 11:30 am.  It’s a great start to family weekend time!

We have donations coming in all the time.  You might just find a new treasure to play with – come in and see!

Beat the summer heat!

The temperature may be rising outside, but the Toy Library has plenty of toys, games, and other activities you and your children can play with indoors.

For your convenience, we are open four days a week during the summer: Wednesdays through Saturdays.  Be sure to check our schedule and give a call first to make sure a volunteer is available to assist you.

Summertime is here!

We are pleased to announce that we have more open hours for the summertime!  In addition to our hours on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, please come in on Thursdays from 9:30 – 11 am to check out some new toys.

Please remember that we are an all-volunteer organization and sometimes a shift cannot be covered of there is an emergency.  We recommend you call first during open hours before coming just to be sure.

We keep receiving excellent donations and are trying to keep up with getting them into circulation – see if you can spot something new as you peruse the shelves.

A Busy Day

We held our Volunteer Appreciation Event last Saturday.  Along with eating cake and tending to patrons checking toys in and out, volunteers admired and tried out the new apron and name tags.

Toy Coordinator Jaye worked with two great students to clean, catalog, and put into inventory dozens of toys.  Caitlin T. collected toy donations as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award.  She and fellow student Abby cheerfully worked several hours to make things ready for incoming patrons.

There are plenty of additions to our puzzles, board games, and “educational” toys – some by to check them out, literally!

Volunteer Appreciation Day

It’s National library Week and National Volunteer Month.  Today we celebrate the efforts of our volunteers of the WTL, without whom we could not make this community resource available.  Thank you, volunteers!  Please come by today during our open hours, 10 am – 1 pm, to be recognized and honored!

Support your child’s educational activities here at the library

is your child studying some special subject at school? need a prop for a book report, presentation, or show-and-tell? we may have what you need in all sorts of themes – construction, dinosaurs, horses, pirates, airports, alphabet & numbers, music…the list goes on!

do you want to reinforce new skills your kids are learning?  we have lots and lots of “toys that teach” – particularly hands-on materials that allow kids to develop their hand-eye coordination, language arts, math concepts, and spatial skills.  fractions are so much fun when you play with pizzas, you know!

New Year Brings New Hours!

We are very pleased to announce new, expanded hours and days for the WTL.  Due to volunteer dedication and commitment, we have been able to add another day and time, and we have adjusted our open times to earlier in the day to accommodate our patrons’ needs.

Starting this Friday, January 20th, 2012, our new hours will be as follows:

Wednesday 9:30 – 11:00 am

Friday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Saturday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Please remember that we are an all-volunteer organization.  Sometimes our shifts are unfilled, though we try to minimize that.  We recommend calling first 530-666-2918 before you come over to ensure a volunteer is available to check out or check in toys for you.

Student volunteers get things done – with a smile!

Our winter 2011 toy inventory has been a success!  Special thanks to these amazing student volunteers for their invaluable work—we couldn’t have done it without you!

Woodland Chamber’s 47th Holiday Parade

The WTL is proud to be marching in the Holiday Parade this year.  We’ve got candy for the kids along the parade route and free warm beverages at the Toy Library itself.  Come show your support and spread the love!  If you haven’t visited us yet, it will be a great opportunity to take a tour, see what toys we have to offer, and perhaps even sign up for a membership!
